Wilson’s Cains River Report June 4th

[singlepic=339,520,390]
Our crew done a float trip Wed 3rd from Rt 123 bridge to Duffy Brook on near perfect water and warm temps . We picked up the usual 6- 10 inch trout but no sign of the big boy’s yet . Three of the guy’s are continuing on to Shinnickburn today so maybe they will hit the run further down river . It was the perfect night for tenting-out , windy enough to keep the bugs away all evening plus very cool overnight with frost so no bugs during breakfast either . Despite the fact that we did not touch a fish these trips are some of the best .

    I see from your canoe trip that the Sea Trout haven’t came into the Cain’s System yet. Seems to be later this year. A couple of years ago, a friend and I had Crown Reserve Day at the upper end, I think Wildcat and other pools in that section, and I thought we had the water around the 13th of June. I guess We’ll put off putting in for that section or other sections above the highway till there’s new of them being in the system. Loved the pic, of the one you had caught and had to keep, Boy, there beauties, and I agree, certainly need to be released to preserve there existance and sustain themselves. Good Luck this season, hope its a good one. Hope you might be able to post something regarding the progress of the Sea Run Trout. Thanks, Bob
