As it sometimes goes in this sport, we get too much of a good thing. Overnite
on June 10th brought us nearly 3 inches of rain, resulting in the river up app 3 feet above normal on both the Miramichi and Cains Rivers. This is obviously good for the water table but sure put the brakes on any productful fishing for a few days. Some rivers in southern NB are running chocolate brown indicating some major erosion somewhere up stream, but our two local rivers here appear to be normal, very high and fast but no sign of major erosion. We should be back on the water soon with tons of happy fish fresh from the ocean. As the water drops and warms up on the Cains the big sea-run brook trout will pool up and be ready for a dry fly, this week it looks like sink tip lines and streamers .
