ASF News Dec 8th

December 8, 2010 by Keith Wilson

Five wild Atlantic salmon population segments in Atlantic Canada and Quebec have been designated endangered and one as threatened, with a further four as of special concern by COSEWIC, Canada’s independent scientific body that recommends official change of status for species.

The Atlantic Salmon Federation is studying the recommendations. To read more on these changes, learn what rivers could be affected, and to download a map, go to:

Important populations have been designated as of special concern, while several others are listed as not at risk.
