Miramichi River Atlantic salmon report July 12th . The water is finally down to a normal mid July level and despite the hot mid day temps this week it is still cooling down nicely at night . It seemed unusual to see fish on the move in the heat of the day yesterday and last evening even a few nice salmon rising to bombers . Derek Munn is reporting a big run of salmon and grilse coming through Mountain Channel since Monday and we had reports from the Millbank counting fence that the last few days has been the best they have seen so far this year . If the water holds at a decent level we are sure to see the “July Run ” hit in full force in McNamee very soon . It looks like the lower part of the river is the place to be right now .
