Anglers are enjoying river and weather conditions almost too good to be true . Temps are cool and the water is superb . We are obviously into the June run because of the high number of MSW salmon , such as this beauty that Steve landed just this morning . Another interesting note is that we are seeing a more than usual number of female grilse . The fish are running straight through on this good water resulting in pools being totally alive one moment and an hour or so later nothing showing . Reports coming from the DFO counting fence in Millerton is that as of Sunday night July 8th they are now seeing mostly male grilse , which makes us beleive that the July Run of grilse is on it’s way . Tyler Story ( MSA Field Rep ) says that the Millerton trap is putting through nearly three times the daily number of fish this last three days compared to what was counted in the previous two week period . With the near perfect weather forecast for the next 6 days anglers can expect some really good fishing coming up .
