The river has cooled down nicely and even though most of us wish for a good raise of water , remember this is not the first time that we have been faced with low water fishing and it won’t be the last . There is a good number of fish in the holding pools as per usual for mid September but you might have to change your technique in order to make it happen . EJ remembered the fall of 1991 when his best luck was casting straight across in the slower section of the pool and slow stripping the Royal Wolff wet , not dry . Last evening Eric L tried this technique and immediately hooked two nice grilse . In this situation the knowledge of a good guide made all the difference .
