The Miramichi season has begun! Not a great picture, but earlier today
Jason Curtis caught a grilse on the NW Miramichi, and then this evening he
caught this lovely hen salmon at Campbell’s Pool on the MSW Miramichi. For
those of you familiar with the pool, he said that he rolled it twice on
green machine in the first big line of rocks off the Campbell shore before
it took. This is the first fish we’ve heard of off the river this year,
though I’m sure that won’t last long! The fish was netted by Johnny Keenan
who frequents Anderson’s Point below us, and is the grandson of Papa Keenan
who Papa’s Rock on the far side of the river is named for. Brad
