Well folks we had some great news from the Miramichi, last Sunday when word spread of local guide and fisherman Colin Gilks hooking this beautiful 40″ bright salmon in the Doaktown area. Colin was out fishing for trout when he hooked and landed this awesome fish. May 22/2022 is the earliest we have ever heard of anyone on the Miramichi hooking into a bright fish. And to top it off last night Colin who is the head guide at the Miramichi Salmon Club hooked into his second bright salmon. Hats off to Colin, 2 bright fish in May is something else. The cool temps and lots of rain this past few weeks on the tail of one of the best spring salmon season we have had in many years, this season is shaping up to be a great one. Tight lines
