June 1st is opening day for the 2014 sea-run brook trout season on the Cains River , and it can’t get here soon enough for most of us. .2013 was mostly a bust on the Cains due to high water and cold temps all through June , which was good for the trout but not so good for anglers . 2014 is colder than usual too and the water is high so it will be interesting to see how things shape up .
