Wilson’s Miramichi River Ice-Run report for March 23rd . As you can see the ice has moved out of the upper Miramichi in full force last night . The last three days has been record breaking warm temperatures in the mid twenties so no surprise to anyone to see this today . Now everyone wants to know what effect this will have on fishing come April 15th . I agree with a lot of people , including resident fisheries biologist Bill Hooper that our salmon will not begin their spring migration to the ocean until a certain photo period and water temperature is reached . We have seen this early ice-run many times and there are always plenty of salmon still around in April .
