Wilson’s Miramichi River report for the upper Miramichi River for April 20th . The water is looking good this morning after dropping and very clear but fish are taking slow in this area . My grandson Gage and his dad Karl are pictured here enjoying a few hours on the water . Gage landed a couple of grilse after Karl cast long into the heavier water .Most of the fish seem to have left the pocket water and are on the move out . A couple of our guests had good luck with a slow sink tip line and a dark fly and again best results are from casting . Fishing has slowed down in comparison to opening day but there are still plenty of fish around . Wilson’s still has a couple of cabins available for this weekend at reduced rates . Our cottages are well equipped for housekeeping and there is a boat landing right out front . If you are serious about improving your chances of success you should consider hiring one of Wilson’s professional Atlantic Salmon Miramichi River guides .
