As you can see the river is much the same height since August 2nd, as a matter of fact it is actually higher than the August 11th photo . We have had just enough rain to keep the river at a stable height . In our opinion the water height is not the problem , it is the daytime temps that remain high , but not extreme . So it does not make since to fish the afternoon and evenings yet . On a more positive note the temperature is cooling off nice most nights so with any luck we should be back to normal fishing hours soon . We have a decent number of salmon holding and reports from the estuary are most encouraging as the fall season draws near . For the fall fishing crowd booked for the Miramichi please do not panic at this point in time , the river can turn around very quickly and be the best fishing ever . This is not the first time we have dealt with warm weather and it won’t be the last .
