Atlantic Salmon fly-fishing conditions on the Miramichi at McNamee as of August 27th . At Wilson’s in the McNamee area , which is 30 miles upriver from Blackville the river is down to a perfect fishing level and we have tons of both fresh and summer run salmon . The water is still a little high for the large Big Murphy Pool but most other pools are fishing well . It is so strange how fishing goes at times , Keith L. fished here for three days ( 23, 24 & 25 ) in the really hot weather and only caught one small grilse but then it cooled off Monday night with a few showers yesterday and Mike P. and Charlie M. got into 16 fish ( limit for two rods /two days ) between Monday evening and last night . I was on the water last night ( testing Orvis trout Rods ) and hooked five fish , all of which were fresh- run . All of my fish were taken on the Green machine with white calf tail . The long range weather forecast is for cooler weather so with any luck the early fall fishing should be fantastic . I still have a few rods available for next week if anyone is interested in the best salmon fishing the Miramichi has seen in years , sorry no discounts for September .
