Atlantic salmon fly-fishing conditions for the Miramcihi River near McNamee as of August 24th . Conditions have improved as a result of the rain over the weekend . Hurricane Bill missed us but we got enough rain to bring the river up app 4 inches and of course cooled things down nicely . The fish will likely remain in their cold water sanctuaries but should be on the take today . The weather forecast for this week is ideal with cooler temps . It should be noted that our single best week of the summer in 2008 was the last week of August , probably a fluke but still worth keeping an eye on the river with the present conditions .
