Atlantic Salmon fly-fishing conditions at Wilson’s on the Miramichi River for August 8th . The water is still high but we have cool temps and fresh -run salmon on the move . One lucky angler yesterday hooked three salmon ( 12-18 lb ) and two grilse bringing four fish to the net . One of the salmon and one grilse were bright and silver . Not sure if it made the difference or not but Steve was using a 15 foot two handed spey rod , maybe covering more water gave him the advantage . Everyone in camp had a great day seeing fish and at least rolling one or two . We have three days of showers on the way so lets hope it does not come down too heavy . Best fly yesterday was my old favorite , the green machine with white calf tail .
