Atlantic salmon fly-fishing conditions for the Miramichi River near McNamee for July 10th . The heat wave this week has all but shut things down . The water is very warm and fish are seeking refuge in the cold water areas . It is critical for the health and safety of the salmon under these conditions for anglers to take things very easy . We are fishing only early mornings and late evenings and even then fishing for just a few moments at a time . With the rain and cool temps forecast for the next two days I am certain that we will be back to normal soon . So far this summer we have seen a tremendous run of Atlantic Salmon in most east coast rivers ,so anglers, when you are leaving your favorite pool after a good day fly-fishing , don’t forget to pay up your memberships in the many conservation groups that work to keep our rivers healthy .
