Atlantic salmon fly-fishing conditions for the Miramichi River near McNamee for September 4th . The water is dropping nicely and temps are ideal . We are still having good fishing , mostly on the standard wet fly version and a little larger hooks, for now . Most fish are older “summer run” but the boys are seeing a few fresh looking salmon too. The water is still high on the Cains so that will likely finish off whatever chance we might have had at a last kick at the trout before the September 15th close . There are reports of a few salmon hooking up in the lower reaches of the Cains but we will not likely see any on the headwaters till later in the month .
