Wilson’s and staff hosted The Orvis Company last weekend for what turned out to be a fantastic spey casting school . Students from all over the US were treated to world class instruction by three of the finest in the business and they were some of the first anglers to try the new Helios Spey Rod too. C.D. Clarke , Pete Humphries and Doug Hintzman were instructors and Wilson’s guides Joe Stewart , EJ Long and Karl Wilson rounded out the team to bring the students “the best of the best ” . Even though the water was too high for good fishing and there were fewer fish than hoped for we managed to get into a couple nice salmon and also spotted a number of big fish on the move . Feed back from the group was very positive in terms of the new Orvis Helios Spey Rod and of course the great teaching and instruction .
